Let your child showcase their artistic skills by coloring beloved characters from various DreamWorks’ animated movies and watch in amazement as their creations come to life in fully-animated 3D on screen or in real life!
Educational Aspects
Hand & Eye Coordination -Like most coloring apps, DreamWorks Color provides a nice selection of painting tools, such as the brush, the paint bucket and the eraser, for your child to use. Using the brush or pencil to fill in minute details on the drawing can really put your kid’s hand-and-eye coordination to the test. Thankfully, they can also zoom in by pinching the screen.
Observation Skills -For kids who want to their characters colored to resemble the actual characters, observation skills will then come into play. Right before entering the coloring part of the game, your child will be given a look at the actual image. However, once they start coloring, they will not be able to view the actual image anymore.
Less Educational Aspects
Creativity -Naturally, being a game that emphasize on creativity, DreamWorks Color is perhaps the best app for kids who love DreamWorks’ characters and need an outlet for their creativity.
Replay Value -There are also tons of drawings from various DreamWorks movies like How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, for your kids to color and bring to life.
Motivation -Seeing their colorings in animated and in 3D might motivate your child to continue to color the other drawings in the game. The colorings that your child has done can also be saved and shared to relatives and friends, giving your child the encouragement they need to continue playing the game.
Special Features
Augmented reality The Quick Color option allows your child to superimpose the characters they've colored onto real life objects using the mobile device's camera.
Different Coloring Modes DreamWorks Color has various coloring difficulties to cater to kids of different age ranges. Older kids might enjoy coloring in more complicated drawings whereby they will not only need to fill in the colors of the characters and background on the page, but they also get to add in new characters/ items and color them too. Thankfully, the game simplifies the process by segmenting the drawing into smaller and more manageable parts. Once done, the whole page will then be turned into an animated 3D picture.
There’s also a Quick Color mode where your child can color a character as opposed to an entire coloring page. The character can then be brought to life via the camera on your mobile device.
For younger kids who aren’t very savvy in using tablets or phones to color, you might want to opt for the 3D Print and Capture mode where you can print out coloring pages for them to color. Once done, you simply need to use the Capture option to bring those characters to life.
