Educational Aspects

Mathematics - Several of the games that can be played focus on mathematics and counting. These games are scattered around the world but teach basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Geography - There are several locations all over the world that can be visited, and they have unique designs and games based on the region. There are also tips and pieces of information about these places.

Foreign Languages - In each location visited your child can learn about the language of the country, a few basic words and some of the games also teach these languages too. Though in a basic level they can be useful.

Reading Skills - There is a lot to see in the game, and everywhere you go there are tips, information and game rules all in English. To be able to get the most out of the game your child will need to be able to read the instructions and information.

Hand Eye Coordination - Many of the games require you to move the mouse around and use keyboard buttons too. This builds your child’s hand eye coordination as well as helps them identify shapes and colors too.

Looking After Pets - There are pets in the game called Smighties which the child can adopt, feed and play with. There is also an Orangutan Sidekick you can have if you are a member. There is not a lot of focus on looking after them, more playing with them in the games.

Saving & Spending Tokens - For each game played as well as other activities in the game your child can earn Topia Tokens which they can spend on costumes and items for their secret lair.

Cleaning up the Environment - In almost every part of Herotopia children can clean up mess and help with environmental issues in each area. This then rewards them with Topia Tokens or special items. While not directly educational it teaches the value of the world and keeping it clean to your child.
